We love to see a new view of the West End. Just look at the Kilpatrick Hills.

Thank you to @mooonica0.0 (Instagram) for allowing us to share this great image.

That's the North of the city

Isnt Glasgow lovely? and that’s an unusual angle for a photo, Maryhill Road through to Great Western Road

New City Rd, St Georges Place and Great Western Rd 👍🏻

Brilliant photo! Thank you for sharing. I grew up in the West End. Lovely

When I was young in the 1950s particularly in winter with so many coal fires and industrial pollution it was rarely clear enough to see the Kilpatrick or Campsie hills across the Clyde valley in the Glasgow area

St georges cross me thinks

From St Georges Cross?

ooh, you can see my house from here.....!

Love this place 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Glasgow West End Today

Artists and local makers will be setting up stall in Byres Road in the run-up to Christmas.

Alchemy Experiment is hosting a series of festive creators markets over the next three weekends.

Jewellery, candles, prints, art, photographs, watches, and clothes will be among the offerings at the art space and coffee house.

Around 50 small brands and local businesses will be selling on different days.

Members of the public are invited to walk in and browse for the perfect Christmas present.

Social distancing and normal restrictions will apply.

In addition, the hub is hosting a pop-up gin bar with West End maker Purist Gin on December 18.

Pierce Houlihan, at Alchemy Experiment, is hoping for lots of interest from the West End public .

“Each weekend we are going to have different artists and makers coming in and they have all got a stall each.

“They are mainly local artists and there are some small brands.

“It changes every, so people coming in will see different stalls on different days.

“Vegan candle maker Noord Candles is really popular and has been here before.

“But there are people who have never sold anything physically before.

“It’s a real mixed bag of folk, which is great and in line with our ethos.”

Local illustrator Sophy Louise is among those who will be showing.

Others include Babylon Jewellery and UNIK Upcycle. All are easily searchable on Instagram.

Pierce said: “We love the idea of supporting locally-made, not mass-produced products.

“A lot of what will be on sale is hand-made and slow fashion.

“Many of the people displaying and selling are from Glasgow or the Central Belt.”

* Alchemy Experiment Festive Artists and Makers Market is from December 4 to 23rd. Details and tickets for the Purist Gin pop-up will be on Alchemy Experiment’s website this week. You can find Alchemy Experiment art space and coffee shop at 157 Byres Road, G12 8TS, and www.alchemyexperiment.com.

South Ayrshire Council Live Councillor Chris Cullen, Ayr Eastetc. This is Glasgow this afternoon while South Ayrshire Council cancelled the switch ons in Girvan, Ayr and Prestwick….don’t seem to be any terrorist issues here Brian Connolly, whoever brought that idea forward ……if it wasn’t so serious for struggling businesses and children who’ve had an awful year it would be laughable. Hang your collective heads in shame.

Thanks Ian, what a fantastic shot of it!

Is there a market there ?
