Two women being hunted after robbing man of cash in Kelvinbridge

Police are appealing for information after man robbed of money by two women in Kelvinbridge

Two women robbed a man of money after walking with him to a quiet lane in the Kelvinbridge area of the West End.

The 30-year-old man was walking along Great Western Road near to Belmont Street, when he was approached by the two women on Thursday morning.

They persuaded him to go into nearby Belmont Lane where they asked him for money.

When he refused, they grabbed him, rifled his pockets and stole a small amount of money – a two-figure su - before making off on foot back on to Great Western Road towards Kelvinbridge.

Police are now appealing for information following the robbery which happened at around 11am.

The two women were in their 30s, of Eastern European appearance and had dark hair.

Detective Sergeant Raymond Hunter, Community Investigations Unit, Pollok, said: “Thankfully the man, who was on his way to a nearby social club, was not injured but he was quite shaken by the incident.

“I am keen to speak to a woman who we believe may have known him and who saw either the robbery take place or saw him in distress as she went to the club and alerted staff who then came out to assist him.

"It’s important she comes forward as she may have information that will help us identify the two women responsible.”
