A brand new book festival is to be staged in the West End of Glasgow later this month.
More than 20 top fiction writers will take part in the inaugural Byres Road Book Festival.
The four-day literature showcase will take place from Friday September 23 to Monday September 26th.
Authors Chris Brookmyre and Booker Man nominated Graeme Macrae Burnet are among those on the programme.
The top of Byres Roads will be transformed into a book hub pyramid as the September weekend becomes a write off to celebrate the written word.
Waterstones, Hillhead library and the Oxfam bookshop will host a jam-packed programme of poetry, animated stories and discussions.
The festival will offer audiences of all ages a chance to creatively connect with some of their favourite authors in an interactive and novel way; embracing the local and celebrating the universal.
There will be talks and discussions on the art of crime, thrillers, and children's writing, among many other themes.

A host of book offers and discounts will be available from all participating Byres Road Book Festival Venues during September to encourage people all of ages to read more and enjoy their local shops.
The festival is the result of a partnership between the local business group, Byres Road & Lanes Business Improvement District, Glasgow Life, Waterstones and Oxfam.
David Howat, Chair of the BID, is delighted that the festival has come to fruition over the September weekend.
Longlisted: Graeme Macrae Burnet has been nominated for the Man Booker Prize.

"The Byres Road & Lanes Business Improvement District (BID) is an initiative that aims to improve the economic vitality of Byres Road, promoting the area within and beyond the city, and improving the quality of the visitor experience.
"One of the ways we do that is with events, driving footfall to the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars that the area is known for.
Crime: Novelist Lin Anderson will talk about her work.
