Muslim group aims to dispel negative ideas about religion by taking positive action in the community.

Young Muslims are inviting local communities in the West End to join them for litter-picking and a street clean-up on New Year's Day.

The youth from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) will also be distributing Warm clothing and food items to homeless people out on the street on the New Year's eve.

On the morning of the New Year, youth and children will go out with litter picks and bin bags in on Argyle and Sauchiehall Street.

The litter-picking by AMYA is designed to instil community spirit within youngsters.

This year they are inviting local residents to join them in this activity.
