West End barbers to give cut to charity as staff work for free to mark first birthday

Barbers shop in Kelvingrove marks its first birthday with staff raising money for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.

A barbers shop on Argyle Street is donating its birthday takings to charity.

Staff at Briar Grove Barbers will be cutting hair to raise money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Every penny of the takings for one day only will go to the good cause.

Proprietor Iain Ross said the event was a way of celebrating the business's first year of trading.

He said: "To celebrate our 1st birthday, for one day only, every penny from every cut will be going straight into the charity buckets for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity instead of our till.

"From a full cut to a beard trim, we can make you look great for the summer whilst contributing to a great cause."

The charity was previously attached to the Sick Children's Hospital at Yorkhill.
