An elderly woman was left distressed after awaking to find three men robbing her Jordanhill home.
The 75-year-old occupant was asleep in her house in Southbrae Drive when she was disturbed.
The thieves broke into the woman's house at about 5.30pm on Saturday October 14.
The woman was confronted by the men who demanded cash and jewellery from her.
They ransacked the house before making off with money, jewellery and personal items.
Police say the quantity and value of the stolen property has not yet been established.
The men had their faces covered.
Police said the woman was not injured but was left very distressed by the incident.
Detective Sergeant Scott McNulty is with the community investigations unit based at Govan.
He said: “The lady had been asleep in her house when the three men broke in.
“From our investigations so far, we believe that the suspects may have thought the house was empty and seemed to know exactly what they were looking for.
“However, whilst that may be the case, it is still a very frightening experience for the woman and of course concerning for neighbours and others in the area.
“So far the descriptions of the men responsible is quite limited.
"All appear to be white, wearing dark clothing and believed to have Scottish accents.
"One is further described as being between 25 and 35 years of age, of medium build, 5 ft 7 in height and was wearing gloves. Another a bit taller than 5 ft 7 and of a slim build.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area, who may have seen three men hanging about or running off form the house around 1745 hours.
"It’s possible they may have had access to a vehicle, so if you saw a car either waiting with its engine running or parked near the house on that evening, then please give police a call.”
