The chicken restaurant chain will have its home in the former Arnold Clark showroom on Vinicombe Street.
A-Listed Botanic Garage is currently being renovated to provide shops, restaurants and a gym in the heart of the West End.
Permission for the development was granted in 2016.
Now Nando's is seeking permission for outside seating by the redeveloped frontage.
An application has just been lodged with the city's planning applications committee.
Nando's opened its first restaurant in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1987.
It now has more than 350 outlets in the UK alone.
