Scottish baking sisterhood Three Sisters Bake secure primetime TV show on BBC1

The prime Saturday morning slot, with an estimated 1 million viewers, was previously home to a Mary Berry baking programme.

They recently opened a cake takeaway in the West End, now their sibling empire has spread to primetime TV.

Scotland’s famous baking sisterhood, Three Sisters Bake, has secured a weekend slot on BBC1.

Nichola Reith, part of the Three Sisters Bake empire, with three cafes and wedding cake business, is now fronting Flour Power.

The 10-part baking show will now air on Saturday mornings at 11am on BBC 1.

The prime Saturday morning slot, with an estimated 1 million viewers, was previously home to a Mary Berry baking programme.

Flour Power will see workmates across Scotland battle for the cake-making crown with Nichola Reith providing baking guidance and judging the best efforts.

Nichola Reith, Three Sisters Bake, said the TV show was a dream come true.

'In my blood'

She said: “Being a TV baking judge has been an amazing and totally surreal experience, for this pipe dream to become a reality has been almost too good to be true.

"Baking is in my blood and I love nothing more than trying out creations other people have made.

"I was bowled over by the standard of baking from some of the contestants."

She said: "It was a true pinch-me moment when we found out the show would be aired on a primetime TV slot on BBC 1 on Saturday mornings.”

Flour Power aired originally on BBC Scotland in June 2019; it will now be shown on BBC 1 from Saturday 12 October 2019 at 11am for 10 weeks.

Three Sisters Bake established their first café in Quarriers Village in 2011.

The sisters recently opened Cake Bar on Great Western Road in Glasgow.

The new take-away and sweet treat destination is already known as the most instagrammable café in Glasgow.

Three Sisters Bake also has a countryside café in Killearn and a regular pop up at Platform at Argyle Street Arches.
