Glasgow’s Skypark complex has responded to appeals for warm jackets, food and toiletry items.

The business park in Finnieston has given help to The Pyramid community hub in Anderston.

And one tenant Fleet Alliance has donated £7,000 to the Glasgow NE and NW Foodbanks.

Ailsa MacKenzie at The Pyramid thanked the business centre for its help.

She said donations of toiletries, pre-loved school uniform, children’s winter coats, boots, scarves and gloves were urgently needed.

She said: “Every month we will be supporting local children and families by providing activities, essential toiletry items, fruit and vegetables.

“A weekly food share is open to everyone in the area on completion of a simple self-referral form from our website.

“Thanks to everyone that is helping to make a difference.”

Skypark’s strategic lettings advisor Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital, said: “With so many people and charities struggling on top of the pandemic, our business community has successfully pulled together to give some help.

Martin Brown, managing director of Fleet Alliance, said the company had diverted money usually spent on corporate gifts at Christmas.

“In addition to our corporate gift budget donation, our staff came together to generously donate a further £1,065, which the company then doubled, taking our total to over £7,000.”
