Bowlers raise money for charity

Anniesland club members held a charity day for CHSS

A Glasgow bowling club has raised £500 for health charity Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS).

Yarrow Bowling Club’s Ladies Section raised the tidy sum at its recent charity day.

The ladies chose CHSS as one of their members had been supported by the charity after an illness.

Donations

Based at their club in Anniesland, the ladies held a raffle, charity fundraising day, and received donations from local businesses.

The charity day featured a bottle stall, jewellery stall, home baking and a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition.

The ladies also sold Christmas decorations to raise funds.

Louise Macleod, Community, Event and Corporate Fundraiser at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland received a cheque on 20th December at their Christmas party. The ladies were delighted to have raised so much.

The funds they raise will help us to support the 1 in 5 people across the country who are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid to live their lives to the full.

Louise said: “We are so grateful to all the ladies at Yarrow Bowling Club for choosing CHSS to benefit from their fundraising activities.

“They are real fundraising heroes.

“The funds they raise will help us to support the 1 in 5 people across the country who are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid to live their lives to the full.”
