Video: You've seen Gary in action … now join him on a West End training session

Our series of health, fitness and wellbeing films draws to a close with a special offer to readers who want to shape up for Christmas.

Personal trainer Gary Goldie is offering Glasgow West End Today readers a chance to get fit and healthy.

Gary, who is based at the Western Baths Club in the West End, has places for five people to join him on a series of weekly sessions.

Like our films, the sessions will cover exercise suited to all ages and abilities, healthy diet, mindfulness and positive life choices.

He said: "This is a great opportunity for five readers to join me over the coming weeks in a series of training sessions.

"I spend most of my time working closely with individuals developing exercise and nutritional plans based on their aims and goals.

"It is so important that you try to eat a diet which compliments your exercise program."

What the offer consists of:

* 1 x 30 min individual strategy session

* 2 x group training sessions per week

* 2 x planned "homework" work outs, nutritional guidelines and plan

* 4 weekly fitness testing

* The group training will last for 12 weeks.

Gary has been actively involved in the fitness industry since 2006.

He has progressed from fitness instructing to personal training and athletics coaching.

Gary Goldie:

“The personal training industry is always moving forward and new ideas are always developing.

"I enjoy blending these new ideas with the solid foundations of some of the more traditional types of exercise to promote an enjoyable but taxing workout."

His qualifications are endorsed by Fitness Professionals at Level 3 and include advanced cardiovascular training and advanced resistance training.

He is also trained in back care and core stability, nutrition and weight management.

Gary also holds a UKA Athletics coach licence.

He says: "Areas of particular interest to me are running, post-natal exercise and suspension training.

"I use the TRX training system to design a great resistance work out which is very specific to the individual."

"With so many new ideas and different approaches there is a level of exercise open to everyone no matter what level of fitness or activity.
