Who is behind Glasgow West End Today?

Glasgow West End Today is edited and published by Ian Marland (below). Ian lives in the West End with his wife, two children and two dogs. He is a fully-trained journalist with more than 20 years’ experience. Up until January 2016 he was the news editor at The Herald in Glasgow. He has previously worked for The Scotsman and the Press Association. He started out on local newspapers in the North East of England.

Ian wants to grow an audience for Glasgow West End Today by focusing on people and issues that are not normally picked up by the mainstream media. He is using short film packages to bring a different perspective to events, people and happenings across the West End. He welcomes feedback and contributions, although initially there will be no revenue from the site. Ian will be gauging the appetite for advertising among business and organisation as the site grows. If you feel you could help in anyway, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
